Drone Operations Management System (2026)

This project designed a connected drone operations system that helps teams plan missions, assign pilots and drones, manage approvals, capture field records, work offline, and sync mission progress back to the dashboard. The result is a clearer, more traceable workflow from office planning to field execution.

RUDAN needed a digital system to manage drone missions from office planning to field execution. The goal was to replace scattered manual records with one structured platform for mission setup, pilot assignments, dispatch packet downloads, flight logs, risk assessments, incident reports, and offline field updates.

The solution was split into two connected products: a web dashboard for operations teams and a mobile app for field pilots.

A key design decision was separating Missions from Projects.

A mission is the main operation record. It contains the objective, client, location, AOI, documents, flight plan, risk assessment, and total target.

A project is the specific task given to a pilot under that Mission ID.

This was important because one mission can involve multiple pilots and drones. For example, a 30-acre spraying mission can be split across three pilots, and each pilot’s progress contributes to the total mission progress.

The pilot mobile app was designed as a focused field workspace for assigned drone operations. Instead of exposing pilots to the full dashboard, the app gives them a simple way to view assignments, check online or offline status, download the dispatch packet, complete field activity, capture flight records, report incidents, and sync updates when connection returns. The Assignments page works as the homepage, helping pilots immediately understand their current task, field progress, and pending sync status. This made the mobile experience practical for remote operations where pilots may need to access mission details, coordinates, documents, checklists, and instructions without reliable internet.
